Big Horn Sheep (US Wildlife) Big Horn Sheep

Bighorn sheep are named for the large, curved horns borne by the rams (males). Ewes (females) also have horns, but they are shorter with less curvature.[14] They range in color from light brown to grayish or dark, chocolate brown, with a white rump and lining on the back of all four legs.

Bighorn sheep generally inhabit alpine meadows, grassy mountain slopes and foothill country near rugged, rocky cliffs and bluffs.

Twenty Eight Parrot (Birds) Twenty Eight Parrot

The Twenty-Eight Parrots, also known as Yellow-collared Parrots, (Barnardius zonarius semitorquatus) is found in south-west West Australia. Its calls sound like the words "‘twenty eight," which explains their name.

This parrot belongs to the genus barnardius, along with the Mallee Ringneck, Port Lincoln Parrot, and Cloncurry Parrot.  These parrots all have a green body and a yellow ring or collar around their necks and are referred to as Australian Ringnecks.

Hybrid Macaw (Birds) Hybrid MacawAviculturists have reported an over abundance of female blue and gold macaws in captivity, which differs from the general rule with captive macaws and other parrots, where the males are more abundant. This would explain why the blue and gold is the most commonly hybridised macaw, and why the hybridising trend took hold among macaws. Common macaw hybrids include Harlequins (Ara ararauna x chloroptera) and Catalinas (known as Rainbows in Australia, A. ararauna x macao).
